What should I take to my interview?

There’s a lot to think about when you’re going for an interview and it’s totally normal to feel a bit nervous. Don’t forget the things you’ll need by using our simple checklist. Have your remembered:

  • directions and contact information? So that you don’t get lost or forget the name of the person you’re meeting
  • a copy of your CV? To help you talk through your skills and experience and why you’re perfect for the job
  •  a list of questions you’d like to ask? To get all the facts you need about the role and show how interested you are
  • a notepad & pen? To scribble a few important details down, just in case you forget by the time you get home
  • references? Most employers follow up on these at job offer stage, but if you have a glowing review from a previous boss then why not take a printed copy along to share with your potential new boss?

What should I wear to my interview?

You don’t get a second chance to make a first impression and how you present yourself at an interview is a big part of that. Whilst you should always be smart, some companies expect full business dress e.g. a suit, whilst some are more business casual. At Wote Street, we want you to have the best possible chance of success, so before we send you for an interview we’ll let you know the dresscode so you can choose your outfit accordingly. You’ll feel prepared, comfortable, and focused.
