Marta, Centre Manager at Worting House, arrived in England 16 years ago seeking pastures new, and her long-standing relationship with Wote Street People is testament to its USP of being Basingstoke’s most approachable recruitment agency.

A warm welcome

Wote Street People was the first recruitment agency door Marta knocked on because the company was highly recommended to her by a housemate.

Matt and Maxine extended a sincere and friendly welcome, which made her feel at ease instantly. She appreciated how much they consulted with her to understand her skills, personality and what she was looking for in a role – a stark contrast to registering with other local recruitment agencies.

The personal touch

Marta spent a couple of months temping until a long-term temp role at the Ark Centre became available. Maxine brought a caring and personal touch to Marta’s first day by dropping her off to ensure that she arrived on time. This small act of kindness demonstrated to her how much Wote Street People care about their customers and candidates.

She worked at the Ark Centre for 14 years, progressing to Assistant General Manager. One reason why she enjoyed working there is because Wote Street People perfectly matched her skills and personality to the company.

Marta stayed in touch with the Wote Street People throughout her time at the Ark Centre, often to book staff /temps for events and conferences. She trusted the calibre of temps because Wote Street People understood the Ark Centre as a business and would send staff who were a good fit for the team.

Starting again after a career break

Marta took a four-month career break to spend time with her family in Poland. After recharging her batteries and thinking about her next steps, she registered with some local recruitment agencies to get some temp roles to tide her over until she was ready to look for a permanent job.

She ultimately found employment at the Village Hotel, managing the co-working space for two years. She loved working directly with the clients, and listening to and implementing feedback, but she wanted a role with more autonomy and where she could make a difference.

One day, Maxine attended an event at the Village Hotel and Marta mentioned in passing that she may be looking for a new opportunity soon. About 4 weeks later Tracy called her to discuss a potential permanent role.

Marta appreciated the call because it showed that Maxine remembered their conversation despite not having any communication in the meantime.

Opportunity knocks

After carefully going through the job description together with Tracy, Marta felt the new role at Worting House was just the opportunity she was looking for. She submitted her CV and secured an interview just a few days later. She was kept informed of every step, with a phone call before and after each of the two interviews.

Marta was over the moon when the job was offered to her. She was thrilled to have employment in beautiful surroundings and a calming environment. She felt that Wote Street People listened to her and understood what she wanted from her job.

Marta says:

Thanks to Wote Street People and due to their belief in me I have found the perfect job. I have always felt attached to Wote Street People – the warm, friendly welcome set the tone for the lasting relationship we have.

The consultants get to know you well and they care that you enjoy your placements. It’s not just ‘bums on seats’, they are genuinely kind and helpful people.

Wote Street People take the time to understand what type of person would best suit a business, and therefore place the right people in the right jobs.”
